SURFING THROUGH SUMMER
For an intra-college fest, one of the events requires us to make an installation pertaining to a topic given to us by the core committee of the whole festival. The topic changes every year and this particular year’s topic was ’Summer Pop’ for my team. The installation was made only out of junk materials that the team members collected on campus.
To promote recycling and get an idea of the waste we generate, according to the rules of the festival, the installation can only be made of junk material found in and around the National Institute of Design college campus.
Waste cloth from the textile department, old tarp sheet, and plastic water bottles were used to create the 15 feet high wave. We brought the surfer to life using plastic pipes and chindi (scrap clothing).
